Gustafer Yellowgold
Saturday, Jan. 10    2 p.m.

For ages 4+.  This unique blend of live music and moving image features original and catchy story-songs by Morgan Taylor.  The story tells the tale of a friendly creature named Gustafer who has come to Earth from the Sun.  He lives in a small cottage on the edge of an uncharted wooded area of Minnesota.  his many friends include a Pterodactyl, an Eel and a Dragon.  The New York Times said, "The show is a cross between Yellow Submarine and Dr. Seuss."  Fun for the whole family!  Artist Site>>

Stone Soup & Other Stories
Saturday, Jan. 31     2 p.m.

For ages 4+.  This company of players brings to the stage a charming, well-seasoned blend of folktales from around the world.  Besides Stone Soup (Eastern Europe), the other stories featured are Freddie Lee Fisher (United States), The Greatest Being (India) and The Long One (Africa.)  This familiar brew will delight young and old alike.   Artist Site>>   

Jim West Puppets
Aesop's Fables 2
Saturday, Feb. 14     2 p.m.

For ages 4+.  Jim West and company are back in an all-new puppet extravaganza with The Goose That Lay the Golden Egg, The Boy Who Cried Wolf and many more of Aesop's legendary fables!  The show features stories with morals, classical music, puppet-making ideas and of course, more silliness than ever!  Artist Site>>

3:30 p.m. following performance
$8 per child (Ages 4+) accompanied by parent.  (Siblings not allowed without paid workshop ticket.)   Puppeteer Jim West has created a fun-filled workshop where participants can make mouth puppets from newspaper.  Participants will create their own unique puppet using newspaper in creative ways.

Laughing Pizza
Saturday, Mar. 28     2 p.m.

Ages 4+.  Laughing Pizza is a real family band that creates original pop music for kids and their parents.  Dad, Billy, and mom, Lisa combine their skills as award-winning song-writers with their multi-instrumentalist daughter, Emily, to create fun, inspiring music for the whole family.  This very special musical family was chosen as a spring 2008 Parent's Choice Approved Award Winner.  Artist Site>>

Ages 5+.  "Oh the thinks you can think" when Dr. Seuss's best-loved stories collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper!  The Cat in the Hat is the host and emcee for this romp through the Seuss classics.  Dr. Seuss's classic characters find themselves intertwined in an incredible crazy-quilt adventure, in which the power of imagination and most miraculous "think" ever save the day!  Adapted from the Broadway version, you won't want to miss Theatreworks USA's biggest show ever!   Artist Site>>  

Andes Manta

Ages 6+.  Andes Manta performs the vibrant music of the Andes on more than 35 traditional instruments.  From the lyrical sound of the quena, or Andean flute, to the haunting tones of the six-foot long pan-pipes, the music of Andes Manta is an experience that never fails to bring audiences to their feet.  The vibrant, powerful music of the Andes is played from Colombia to Teirra del Fuego, and none play it better than the four Lopez brothers, natives of the Ecuadorian Andes who make up Andes Manta.   Artist Site>>  

Workshop: Andes Manta
4:30 p.m. following performance

$10 per person (Ages 6+)   Created as a hands-on learning experience for children and adults alike, the pan-pipe workshop is a start to finish lesson in creating one's own instrument.  Each participant is provided with a kit containing pre-tuned South American bamboo pipes, cording and bamboo struts.  The musicians teach participants how to assemble the pan-pipes, called pallas, and finish the workshop by teaching all participants how to play a simple traditional Andean song.

Tales of a Mysterious Land
Saturday, June 6     2 p.m.

Ages 4+.  Three stories demonstrate the rich ethnic diversity of Chinese folklore.  Narrated and performed with hand puppets, rod puppets, masks and simple props, the story of Long Hair Girl, The God of Faces, and The Story of the House are sure to stir the heart and stimulate the imagination.   Artist Site>> 

Workshop: Applause Unlimited
3:30 p.m. following performance

$8 per child (Ages 4+) accompanied by parent.  (Siblings not allowed without paid workshop ticket.)   Can you build an articulated puppet from sticks, string, beads, paper and glue? Yes!  these are easy rod puppets to make and enjoy.  Each student will make a simple working puppet to take home.  Child must be able to color, cut well with scissors, and use glue.
